Definitely check this out and spread the word to everyone you know - the LOS ALTOS COMMUNITY CALENDAR is up and running! Whether you're looking for a weekend family activity or a Friday night date spot, this is your go-to website to learn what's happening in Los Altos!! The idea is that this calendar is a one-stop-shop listing all events in Los Altos that are expected to draw crowds of 50 or more. (For smaller events, see the More Great Events page that links to individual organizations' online calendars.) The Los Altos Community Calendar is a collaboration between the major-player groups in town: LAVA, Chamber, Community Foundation, History Museum, GreenTown, the City, and anyone else interested in joining in on the fun! Learn more at: losaltoscommunitycalendar.com.
Also, related is the STATE STREET GREEN CALENDAR, a subset of the overall community calendar that specifically lists events occurring on the State Street Green, a block-long downtown pop-up park that will occupy State Street between First and Second this summer from July 19 through August 13, 2013. This park is a by-product of the City of Los Altos' First Street Streetscape Improvement Project, as the City will close the intersection of FIrst and State Streets during that time for infrastructure improvements. Look for an entire block of recycled-content Heavenly Greens turf, Adirondack chair seating for kids and grown-ups, skate ramps, foam play blocks, concerts, story-time readings, and more! Be sure to stop by and check it out - you won't want to miss this!
