From November 9, 2013 through March 2, 2014, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) is offering an exciting collection of Silicon-Valley-inspired art to explore in downtown Los Altos.  A partnership between SFMOMA, the City of Los Altos, and Passerelle, this free public exhibition is part of SFMOMA's On The Go series during the renovation of their San Francisco museum space through 2016.  Project Los Altos features indoor and outdoor works by nine nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.  Seven of the nine artists have produced new site-specific works that directly respond to their impressions of Los Altos and Silicon Valley during their in-person visits in Spring 2013.  The indoor works will be displayed in three of Passerelle's retail spaces along State Street - 359 State, 271 State, and 242 State - as well as one installation in the Costume Bank at 169 State, and the outdoor works are located in Lincoln Park, Village Park, the Los Altos Civic Center, and on street and sidewalk spaces around the downtown.  Exhibition hours are 10am - 6pm Wednesday through Sunday*, all free and open to the public. (*the Costume Bank location's hours differ slightly - see website for specifics)
